Pastor's Weekly Blog

Blessings my Brothers and Sisters in Jesus,

What a great weekend of worship and Bible Study. Are we prepared for when the bridegroom (Jesus) returns for his bride and takes all whose relationship with Him is burning into the marriage feast of the Lamb in heaven? Worship, Bible study, prayer, partaking of the sacraments, all are ways that our relationship with Jesus is kept burning by the power of the Holy Spirit. It was good to see all of you there keeping your relationship with Jesus burning.

I hope that you are still praying about how you can be a part of our fall congregational campaign, "The God Questions". We need all of the gifts and talents of the body of Christ at Friends In Christ to reach many for Jesus. Pray about joining a Friends Christ Care small group to participate in the fall campaign, as well as, reading the daily readings. God bless each and everyone of you as you seek to bring Jesus to those who do not know Him.

I know that I said at the weekend services that I had not had time to prepare a message because I wasn't feeling well and you fell for it hook, line, and sinker. I hope that it wasn't to startling for you. But I wanted everyone to experience not being prepared, so that we all would understand the importance of being prepared for Jesus' return. I got the idea because the storms have been giving me a rough time, but not too rough to preach and teach, which is my passion. Thank you all so much for your continued prayers and love.

Always ready for Jesus,
Pastor Randy

Pastor's Weekly Blog

Greetings my Sisters and Brothers in Jesus!

What a great weekend of worship. We had a wonderful time discovering that we have an invitation to send out to the wedding feast of the Son, Jesus Christ. We have received our invitation, our wedding clothes, and now we are servants of the Father and are given the task to go out everywhere and invite everyone to the feast, good or bad, we are not to judge. God is such a gracious and loving God!!

Our journey through The Gospel According to Luke is so exciting. Jesus has announced that He is the Messiah and all the people of His hometown wanted to kill Him because of it. We are growing in our relationship to Jesus and our relationships with each other as we grow in faith and knowledge together. I, with all sincerity of heart, invite everyone to join in on this journey through The Gospel of Luke. I guarantee that you will grow in your relationship with Jesus. This journey has helped me grow in my relationship with Jesus, so much so, that I look forward to the journey each and every week.

We are progressing with our fall Congregational Campaign called "The God Questions". I am reading through the daily readings book and the small groups study guide - they are amazing. The authors are answering questions about God in an easy to understand way, so that we, ourselves, can be equipped to answer people's questions when they arise. This campaign will grow us closer to God, help us be able to answer people's questions, grow us closer to each other, and reach people who do not know Jesus with the saving message of the Gospel. I hope that you are praying and considering how you can be a part of this great campaign.

I am trying to do as much as possible, which means that I still do too much sometimes. I feel that I am progressing, but at a very slow rate. All of your prayers and encouragements are such a help to me beyond the gratitude that I can express. Thank You!!

In our Living Savior, Jesus,
Pastor Randy

Pastor's Weekly Blog

Hi Brothers and Sisters in Jesus!

By now you probably are thinking that I should change my title to "Pastor's Bi-weekly Blog" after my recent vacation times, but I will be back for a while. We had a great time seeing both of Barbara's sisters, children, and grandchildren (My great-nieces and nephews). It was great to see Barbara's sisters and her mother all together again. It had been 20 years since they were all together at the same time. It was over 100 degrees a couple of days in North Carolina, which was just fine for me. The heat does make me feel better. I have been testing out my physical abilities this summer as we are redoing our backyard - putting up a retaining wall and paver patio. I have learned to pace myself and go inside when I have had enough. I get a lot of coaching from my family.

I am excited about our push into the Fall. We are going to be concentrating on our congregational campaign called "The God Questions". I would like all of you to pray about how you could be of service to Jesus, our community, and our fellow friends in Christ by getting involved in this campaign. I have been praying about someone to ask to be the Campaign Director, so if you believe that God would Have you serve in this way please contact me and we can discuss what needs to be done and decide in prayer whether it is right for you. There are other coordinators and many helpers that are needed. Your gifts that God has given you we need for this campaign. Prayer - which we can all do - is the most important part of this campaign.

It is good to go on vacation, but it is also good to be home again. God's richest blessings and thanks for all your prayers.

In Jesus Care,
Pastor Randy
